"This Congolese Life" (or "Learning")

We moved to Congo in July 2010, after several years (4 for me, 13 for Douglas) in Nairobi, Kenya. Douglas lived here in the 1990s, before the war. We are slowly getting adjusted, learning how to do things, learning how to work, learning how to be a "good person" here.  There are plenty of opportunities to do stuff wrong, to look foolish, to offend, to be hurt. But there are also many opportunities for laughter, to smile together, to be together and share this Congolese life with our Congolese and ex-pat friends. We are learning.
