In August 2011, Douglas spent a week in the town of Dungu with our friend Rick. It was Douglas's first survey trip in the DRC since 1995!
Meanwhile Bagamba (on chair, wearing headphones) was in the town of Ango.

We decided that the Azande people in the DRC, particularly those in Ango (which is further from Sudan) did not understand the Sudanese variety of the Pazande language well enough to use the translation.
(Postscript mid-2012: Two Zande Christians will soon begin translation studies at Shalom University in Bunia to equip them to serve the Congolese Azande.)
Really? So a Canadian does not understand the English that is spoken in Florida (USA) because Florida is the furthest city of USA from Canada? I would assume that the Bible you were reading from was translated from the King James version.
ReplyDeleteEven I as a Zande of Sudan, I do struggle with it sometimes, just like most modern English speaking folks would struggle to understand the King James version Bible.
